Steel Subcontractor seeking office accounting person. Strong working knowledge of Quickbooks required as well as all tasks of Payroll, AR, AP, AIA billings, Change orders, T & M billings, bank reconciliations, taxes, insurances, audits, lien releases, reception and administrative duties, etc. Excellent written and verbal skills required. Strong Word and Excel skills. We are seeking a person with a construction accounting background preferably, and solid professional working experience in G/L, Account Reconciliations, Financial Statements and Multi-company financial operations. We are looking for a positive, reliable, hard-working team player to join our company. College degree in accounting, business or finance a plus.

Shop Welders/Fabricators

We’re looking for hardworking professionals who enjoy meeting challenges and surpassing Shop expectations. We are seeking dependable and hard-working full-time candidates for the day shift, Monday thru Friday with some overtime as needed M-F and weekends.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Must have experience in welding mild steel, stainless
  • Minimum of three years experience welding in a fabrication shop environment
  • Knowledge of welding practices
  • Knowledge of reading drawings and blueprints.
  • Must be able to read tape measure, be proficient at layout, and have experience reading plans and specs.
  • Weld, Fabricate parts to acceptable quality

Responsibilities and Accountability:

  • Perform MIG, TIG, Stick and other types of welds based on project needs
  • Have to be able to Verify material sizes
  • Interpret drawings to cut, notch, fit, and weld materials to proper specifications
  • Monitor and verify the accuracy of each job’s initial set-up and final outcome. Attention to detail
  • Communicate well with supervisor, production control, quality control and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, safety shoes and safety glasses. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.

Project Manager:

Experienced Project Manager and motivated team player with excellent communication skills to perform the duties of project manager for multiple projects. Oversee AIA billings, Schedule of Values, Contract documents, Submittals, Drawings, Change Orders, T&M work tickets, RFI’s, Working closely with Contractors and Fabricators. Must have excellent computer skills in Word and Excel. Work Experience and College Education all a plus.

Project Engineer:

We are seeking a Project Engineer to assist the project managers in all phases of managing the jobs. Experience required in drawings, submittals, RFI’s, change orders, AIA billings, and contract documents. Excellent Word, Excel and communication skills. Organization skills, multi-tasking, and experience with structural steel all a plus. College degree or several years of similar experience preferred.

Structural Steel Estimator:

Experienced structural steel estimator to review bid documents, prepare detailed material and labor take-offs, prepare complete bid packages for structural and misc steel projects (fabrication & erection), obtain subcontractor and vendor quotes, prepare extra work and change order estimates, post bid follow ups and negotiations, help to generate new business, excellent communication and computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel & Outlook) and have ability to read and interpret design drawings, specs, bid documents. Full understanding of the fabrication & erection process. College degree preferred, minimum of 5 years experience.

Field Superintendent
Valley Steel is looking for a Superintendent to oversee the field and the multiple projects going on at any one time. You will be responsible for hiring from the Ironworkers Local 433 Union hall and manning each job with the appropriate staffing levels. You will oversee getting and verifying weekly time cards. You will work with the job foremen on each job managing the scope of work that has been bid, organizing ticket work and change orders, and verifying the drawings as each project progresses. You will be responsible for ordering and calling off all rental equipment. You will need to coordinate deliveries and materials for each job and work with our runner to be as efficient as possible. This position will be in charge of managing the man hours and helping each job come in under budget. You will be overseeing the safety on each job making sure all OSHA and safety requirements are met. You will work with the office and the PMs in managing each project. The person for this job will be an established and experienced Ironworker who has been a foreman or GF and is ready for the next step. You must be organized, efficient, firm, and have good people skills. You will be working with the GC’s and attending meetings as necessary. Salary will depend on experience.
